Martin Harrison is founder and CEO of SUMMA Limited
A seasoned investment manager, having worked at BP Pension Trust and Schroders before becoming an investment director at Bankers Trust and Invesco, Martin was also senior investment adviser to sovereign funds for Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Qatar and the UAE
He has been a member of the CFA Institute and its UK antecedents continuously since 1981, is a practising member of the Academy of Experts (TAE), holds three Masters degrees and has pursued doctoral research in financial economics and investment governance

My entire career is focused on institutional investment, across global asset classes and clienteles
Entering the City in 1981, I became director of equities and pension funds at a large investment bank in 1989
And led my multibillion dollar unit to Europe's largest quoted manager in 1994, becoming a global partner
Having managed diverse strategies for over fifty of the world's leading corporations and municipalities
In 1996 I was headhunted to the first of four roles as senior adviser to sovereign wealth funds (SWFs)
Creating SUMMA to set strategic goals for the new investment platform at Europe's largest bank in 2006
And steering two nascent SWFs through turbulent times either side of the 2008 financial crisis
SUMMA harnesses an unusual breadth and depth of buy and sell side experience in challenging places
Working over decades with some of the world's largest and most prestigious investors
Contributing to the development of a national pension fund and nascent sovereign wealth funds
And tackling assignments even more diverse than our clientele
By affording insights into institutional investment gained from a uniquely privileged perspective
To provide joined-up analysis of best practices, change management and the governance value-chain
